Dropkick Murphys St. Paddy’s Night: Streamin’ Live From Boston

Andy Hunter

With the global pandemic raging and cities and countries going into lockdown across the globe, you could be forgiven for thinking St Paddy’s night would be pretty much cancelled.

It’s absolutely not though- thanks to the wonders of technology.

What would St Paddy’s night be without the Dropkicks? Just because we can’t see them in person there’s no reason to not all chant along.

Boston’s favourite punk sons are streaming their traditional Celtic celebrations live on YouTube. If you’ve never had the chance to see them live, this is the ideal intro.

Songs you just can’t help but chant and fistpump along to mixing Celtic folk traditions with punk, the Dropkicks have been stalwarts of the scene since the mid nineties. A discography that just gets better as it grows and a live show experience that leaves you desperate for an encore make this possibly the only upside of the current crisis.

Check them out here.

If you’re quick you can still join in the pre-show chants of Lets Go Murphys! which are an integral part of the warm up and only slightly deminished by being textbased and virtual.

Already missed the show? Don’t worry- you can still catch it on YouTube.
