GREASE! The cultural landmark film of the 1970’s that celebrated the 1950’s and made She Na Na look cool is coming to Pier 66 via the Fort Lauderdale International Film Festival! What’s the best way to enjoy a movie about girls, cars and not-so street tough greaser types while social distancing? Why a drive in movie, that’s how!

Pier 66 and the FLIFF have been collaborating on drive in films in the Pier 66 parking lot. This film, however, has some of the most memorable music of all time and will boost the fun with a sing along to all of your favorite songs. Here’s some info from the events website:

FLIFF Drive-In Cinema returns Friday, July 24 in collaboration with Pier Sixty-Six Hotel & Marina, Epic Outdoor Cinema, Riverwalk Fort Lauderdale & Underground Lauderdale present “Grease Sing – Along”. “Grease Sing-A-Long” that will feature follow-along lyrics to all the songs during the film for viewers to join in the fun.

The 1978 movie musical with John Travolta and Olivia Newton-John became both a cultural phenomenon and a classic, making the pair superstars.

The soundtrack boasts several unforgettable songs, including “Greased Lightnin’,” “Look at Me, I’m Sandra Dee,” “Summer Nights,” the Academy Award -nominated “Hopelessly Devoted to You,” “Beauty School Drop Out” and, of course, the eponymous title track “Grease.”

BONUS!…Epic Outdoor Cinema & Twilight Features will present all films at Pier Sixty-Six on their bigger screen! The lot is humongous…#staysafedrivein

Doors open 7pm. All cars must be in position by 8:15pm. Movie 8:30pm. *First come first serve parking. Tickets $30 p/carload
